| this was taken on the weekend while i was in Edmonton on a family visit. had a few hours to roam around and see about some people-on-the-street images - very few people were out though - it was cold - snow flurries - the light was fantastically gritty - you've heard me whine about it endlessly but really - street photography in Alberta is a tough go on a sunny day - never mind a cold day in April when everyone has had enough snow - there were no real smiles for the camera on Saturday - people moved away from windows, glared or scolded me. i'm busy growing rhino skin as a i write this. but i'm also thinking about stopping street photography and focusing more on landscapes. i'm better at landscapes. no firm decision yet - so you know - best not to get too committed to this decision for me yet. best just to enjoy these smiles even though they were paid for by the people at Quest and then hijacked by me. other news. we have a snowfall warning for today and it's snowing at the moment. good thing we never pack away our boots and down jackets here. |
