at Torrey Pines in La Jolla - 2009-02-16 17:58:51
| this was taken on the holiday at Torrey Pines State Reserve in La Jolla California. the land was purchased between 1908 and 1912 by a woman who was a nurse. she hired a gardener to tend the land and later donated the land to San Diego with the provision that it remain a park. if you are ever in the area i highly recommend Torrey Pines. thank you everyone for the warm welcome back. i didn't mean to overstate my feelings about my photos from the trip yesterday - it isn't that i think they are all duds. last year i was in Palm Springs California briefly for training - there was little time for photography and yet it felt like every time i was able to get the camera out something good was happening. it just didn't feel like that on this trip. but perhaps one year later i expect more from myself. |
